An advertising agency has hired you to help them determine the operating system for their intensive multimedia environment. They want to be able to use the latest technologies in graphics, audio, and video for the advertising campaigns they do for their customers.
Contrast the similarities and differences between Windows, Apple, and Unix/Linux. Consider the following three questions to frame your discussion response.
1.What makes each OS unique?
2.What makes them similar?
3.What would you recommend to the advertising agency?

Hi there people, look I needed to ask this because I am in uproar with how things are being dealt with in the country, especially two that is 'unemployment' and 'redundancy'. Now i want to ask people round the county, do you ever look recruitment agencies advertising jobs that are non existent in your local job centre just so they can receive you on their books, well I have heard rumours, and I for one think that is wrong and should be dis-allowed. I have been made redundant got a loan I can't pay off and the last thing i need is the job centre and recruitment agencies messing me about its disgusting and absurd.

WASHINGTON – The Census Bureau wasted millions of dollars in preparation for its 2010 population count, including thousands of temporary employees who picked up $300 checks without performing work and others who overbilled for travel costs.
Federal investigators caution the excessive charges could multiply once the $15 billion headcount begins in earnest next month unless the agency imposes tighter spending controls, according to excerpts of a forthcoming audit obtained by The Associated Press.
On a positive note, investigators backed the Census Bureau's decision to spend $133 million on its advertising campaign, saying it was appropriate to boost public awareness. The spending included a $2.5 million Super Bowl spot that some Republicans had criticized as wasteful.
The findings by Todd Zinser, the Commerce Department's inspector general, highlight the difficult balancing act for the Census Bureau as it takes on the Herculean task of manually counting the nation's 300 million residents amid a backdrop of record levels of government debt.
neocons..............So I assume you supported Obama's push to put the Census below control of the White home instead of the commerce dept??? Since this has NO political implications whatsoever (sarcasm)
mlee..........."I can't believe you'd suggest the USA cease keeping census records? Really?"
No. I didn't "suggest" we cease keeping census records. I ask if it worried you that the govt. (BEFORE EVEN STARTING) has ALREADY wasted millions of dollars. This does not set a good precedent for the remainder of the Census.

Government ads are routinely fraudulent. Politicians make every kinds of promises that they know that they either won't or can't keep in order to receive elected. Further, no matter whom we vote for, we are always voting for a package deal which always grants politicians the ability to claim a mandate to expand government power in some area (Democrats tend to run on reducing the military and the police state, while expanding government control over the economy; Republicans do the opposite; both expand government control over every areas, with the only significant difference being which cultural values they wish to impose on us, either the politically-correct multiculturalism of the Democrats or the fundamentalist Christianity of the Republicans).
Government agencies routinely advertise in fraudulent fashions. The military recruits in a very misleading fashion.
In the area of government, there are virtually no checks on the ability to fraudulently advertise. In the free market (at least in industries that are still consumer-driven, not driven by government or by government-connected entities such as banks and insurance companies), consumers have the ability to cease purchasing products that are not what they are advertised as. A person who buys a needy quality product because of a slick ad learns not to purchase that product again and informs other people not to purchase that product, making a deceptive advertising strategy counter-productive in the long run. However, in the area of government, we have to elect either the liars of the Democratic Party or the liars of the Republican Party every few years. These 2 parties inevitably scare half the country into voting for them because the other party is bad (generally, negative ads are the only honest political ads, which is why the media, which is a glorified propaganda arm of the government, hates them so much).
Should we amend the Constitution to prohibit government and politicians from advertising to protect the American people against fraudulent claims?

I am going to be getting my real estate license. I had an interview/spoke with the top company im the NY capital district. They are the best however im wondering if their fees/commission percentages are fair. They want 28% to the real estate company and then 50/50(70/50 after 45,000$ sold) to the smaller sector of the company that I work for. They cover every advertising except personal and MLS, business cards, and E&O. I feel that 28% and then 50% on top of that is allot to ask for. I have not had a chance to check with any other agencies yet but I think with my motivation I do not need the best company to out a name out there for me, So im thinking more commission somewhere else might be a better deal for me. Any ideas or advice or knowledge would be great. Thank you!

What difference does it make if an advertising agency was hiring for a positionand and one person has a 4-year degree in Marketing, and another has just graduated from high school. Isn't the job at the advertising agency gonna be job-specific, and so 95% of what the college graduate learned in college is useless? What do you think?
Is college just a way to act as a buffer to make it harder to apply to certain jobs?
Well, I thought about it and perhaps the whole test-taking skills proves that the student can receive things done, so there might be some value to being able to achieve a degree, what do you think?

With the fluctuation of gas prices today, the mileage ratings of vehicles is of importance to most drivers. However, the ratings advertised by car manufacturers may not bear any relationship to what you receive, depending on where, when, and how you steer. Nevertheless, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) spends countless hours collecting and analyzing data to determine estimated mileage ratings. The EPA places vehicles on a device called a dynamometer – sort of like a great big “treadmill” for cars -- where every car is put through the same routine of accelerating, braking, coasting, stopping, and switching the engine on and off. The mileage obtained during that standard cycle is then adjusted by a numerical factor to receive it closer to "real world" experience. Starting with the 2008 model year, the EPA revised those tweaks to bring hybrid mileage ratings closer to actual usage. The 2009 Toyota Prius Hybrid car is advertised as having an overall mileage rating of 48 miles per gallon (mpg) for city driving, and 45 mpg for highway driving. In fact, it turns out that the actual 2009 Prius overall mileage ratings are approximately Normally Distributed with a mean of 47 mpg and a standard deviation of 2.1 mpg. QUESTION TO ANSWER: If you were to randomly select a 2009 Prius, what is the probability that it gets at least 50 mpg? (Round your answer to 4 decimal places. Do NOT include units. Do NOT include any letters, spaces, commas, or any characters other than numbers.)
